Torbay Voluntary service produces a five year Business Plan that allows everyone involved with TVS to share a common vision and provide a framework for our activities.

THE FIVE KEY AREAS OF WORK FOR TVS ARE

Support, Development, Representation, Liaison and Partnership

• Support for local voluntary organisations.
  
  TVS aims to provide provide appropriate information, advice , training and support services to local voluntary organisations.
  As well as publishing our own monthly Newsletter (members only), we have our regular 'NETWORK' column published every Friday in both the Herald Express and Brixham News. If you need to draw attention to a particular issue, please contact us.

 

• Development of new services in response to identified need.
  
  To further the efficiency and effectiveness of local voluntary action and assist with the development of new sustainable services to meet identified need. 
  
  We are currently involved with

  • a training needs analysis

  • employment of Voluntary Sector Forum Co-ordinator

  • Establishing a Community Development Group

  • Implementing the Voluntary Sector Strategy

• Representation of voluntary sector views at local and national level.
  
  To open channels of communication between statutory agencies and voluntary sector and provide opportunities to facilitate representation.
  
  We are currently representing the voluntary sector on

  • Torbay Partnership Committee

  • Safer Communities sub group.

  • Torbay Partnership Committee – Finance/Chairs Committee

  • Torbay Strategic Partnership Committee.

• Liaison between voluntary and statutory agencies and
  Partnership work with other agencies.
  
  To develop and maintain effective networks of communication between voluntary organisations and statutory agencies.  - To assist this Torbay Voluntary Service maintain a Database of voluntary groups active in Torbay. Details of those groups who have both supplied us with full information about their work and stated that they are happy for us to release contact details, are available on request.

  If you are a part of a voluntary group or community organisation that is not currently listed on our Database, they could be missing out - we cannot put people in touch with them if we don't know who or where they are!
